Organization Hierarchy
On this page, you will see a tree view of your organization's structure. You can add, edit or remove business entities from your organization's structure using the buttons at the bottom of the page. Each time you add a business entity, a corresponding group of computers is also created, at the same position in the hierarchy.
The organization structure lets you organize groups of computers according to business function - whether you are managing multiple departments in a medium sized company, or multiple customers each with different sites as a Managed Service Provider (MSP), just about any type of organizational structure can be created and modelled.
OptiTune supports four types of business entities:
Company - Represents a company. It may also be a division of a larger company, a wholly owned subsidiary, or an external company.
Customer - A customer that you manage. This type of entity is often use by MSPs (Managed Service Providers) to keep track of each client.
Department - Typically a department within an organization. For example, the accounting department.
Site - A specific building, floor, or area
Every type of business entity can be a parent or child of every other type of business entity.
