OptiTune supports using a custom SMTP server for sending all emails for your organization. To configure custom SMTP settings, click on the "Server Settings" tab, select "Advanced Settings", and click on "SMTP Settings".
Fill out the following fields with your SMTP server information. For example, if you are using Office 365, you can use the following settings:
|Encryption||Enable SSL is checked|
|User Name||The email address of an Office 365 user|
|Password||The password of the Office 365 user|
|From Email||The display address that the emails will be sent from|
If you want to send emails using a shared mailbox, you will still need a regular Office 365 user configured with full access to the shared mailbox. In the image above, "firstname.lastname@example.org" is an O365 user with full access to the "email@example.com" shared mailbox.
Select "Enabled" to use your own custom SMTP server, or "Disabled" to use the system SMTP settings, configured at the server level.
Enter the smtp host name, for example 'smtp.office365.com'
Enter the port number to use, for example, 25, 467, 587, or 2525
Choose whether or not your SMTP server uses an SSL/TLS (encrypted) connection.
Enter the user name to use when logging in to the SMTP server, typically an email address
Enter the password to use when logging in to the SMTP server
Enter the email address that emails will be sent FROM
Send Test Email
To test the SMTP settings before or after saving them, you can enter an email address to send a simple test email to, and click "Send Email".
