Adding/Editing Agent Installers


To add customized installer in OptiTune, click on the “Computers and Groups” tab, select “Agent Setup”, and click “Add” at the bottom of the screen.  To edit a group, select the custom installer and click “Edit” instead.

Fill in the following information about the custom installer, and click “Save”.  Note that only “Name” and “Description” are required, the rest are optional fields.  Once you click “Save”, you will be brought back to the Agent Setup page.  It often takes 10-30 seconds to generate the installer, and you will see the progress here.  When the custom installer is ready, a link will be shown to download the installer.

Installer Description

Name

Enter the name of the custom installer. This is for your reference only, and will not be seen by end users.

Description

Enter a description of the custom installer.  This is for your reference only, and will not be seen by end users.

Basic Settings

Application Name

Enter the name of the application for the installer to use.  This value will be used in the installer UI, and in the Add/Remove Programs entry for managing installed programs in Windows.

Publisher Name

Enter the name of the application’s publisher (e.g. company name).  This value will be used in the installer UI, and in the Add/Remove Programs entry for managing installed programs in Windows.

Associated Group

If you wish to automatically assign the computer this installer is executed on to a group in OptiTune, select it here.  This fills in the Client ID value below.

Client ID

If you wish to automatically assign the computer this installer is executed on to a group in OptiTune, enter the Client ID associated with the group here.  Note that the group must have an automatic membership rule which references this Client ID value, as is the case when you create groups using the Organizational Hierarchy.   Read more about the Client ID and installers.

Download Availability

If you want a link to the custom installer executable to be accessible by anyone on the internet that has the URL link, check this checkbox, otherwise leave it blank, and only a logged in administrator will be able to download the installer.

 

Advanced Customization

These settings are only needed for advanced customization of the installer, and are used to dramatically change the look or behavior of the custom installer.

Icon

Upload a .ICO file to use for the custom installer executable, and in the Add/Remove Programs entry for the application.

Background Image

Upload a .BMP file to use in the installer UI as a background image.  The image must be 164 pixels wide by 314 pixels high.  (164x314)

EULA

Upload a text file with the End User License Agreement you want the end users to agree to before installing the appliation.

Post Install Application

Upload an executable (.EXE) file that you want to run silently after the installation of the OptiTune agent has completed.

Post Install Parameters

Specify any command line parameters to the Post Install Application defined above.

Post Install Website Name

Specify the name of a website you want to show after the installation has completed.  E.g. “Learn More”. The user will still need to click on the link to view the website.

Post Install Website URL

Specify the URL of a website you want to show after the installation has completed.  E.g. “http://www.bravurasoftware.com/optitune”.  The user will still need to click on the link to view the website.
